Featuring Marie-France and Laetitia Sadier ! Review and pictures.
A first-class last gig for our belgian band Phantom on Oct. 8 in London at the Underbelly Club, London. Great expectations, then great emotion in that hot private party in Hoxton Square for an exclusive – and ironically our ultimate – appearence in UK, at least under that name. Indeed exclusive and quite unforgettable, thanks to our beloved singer Marie-France from Paris and to our amazing special guest : Laetitia Sadier.
Marie-France.
We previously performed a lot with the awesome Marie-France, such as “Phantom feat. Marie-France” CD and dates in France, UK and Germany. It’s always a pleasure to serve her glamourous talent with our garage-rock flavour. Marie-France offered a bunch of her personal repertoire mixed with some Bardot/Gainsbourg songs, from her last Bardot experience. And once again she achieved this with a rare prestige !

Laetitia Sadier.
Former member of Stereolab, one of the most original indie groups of the nineties – and beyond, Laetitia Sadier performed with us, singing a refreshing “Je ne vois que vous” (formerly released in Belgium by Mademoiselle Nineteen) ! A real pleasure to meet her, still dazzling and open to that new but short sonic adventure. Laetitia just released “The Trip” last month, a brand new solo record presenting a rich collection of songs with her unique and delicious voice, dressed in indian summer colors by goldsmith producers Richard Swift and Emmanuel Mario (met in laetitia’s previous side-project Monade). The next day I ran to Oxford Circus and bought her CD. Back to Belgium, “The Trip” is now a smashing hit at home !

Our very last gig under the name “Phantom” was also unusual because of the audience, featuring amongst others Martin Gore (Depeche Mode) and Claudia Brücken (Propaganda, Act, OneTwo). Nice evening, thanks to Deejay Adil !Pictures.
